Smoke

“I don’t smoke, I try to eat right, and I love doing yoga and going for hikes with my dog.”

~ Sarah Chalke

Dawg’s View: My personal assistant was endeavouring to find an appropriate quote about smoke to emphasise our current situation of light filtered through layers of haze from bushfires burning not too far distantly north of us. We are greatful, praying for those less fortunate and for the bravery of firefighters everywhere.

Make Mistakes

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.”

~ Neil Gaiman

“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”
~ Tim Cahill

Dawg’s contemplating another journey, back to the beach, maybe the mountains, lakes or bush, wherever there’s many fragrant, scented messages whirling about singing nature’s glory. Patience little puppy maybe in a day or two. The grass frond sprouting up against your front paw reminding me of an emperor’s regal sceptre or perhaps a magician’s wand.

“The word is always a word for others. Words need to be heard. When we give words to what we are living, these words need to be received and responded to. A speaker needs a listener. A writer needs a reader.
When the flesh – the lived human experience – becomes word, community can develop. When we say, ‘Let me tell you what we saw. Come and listen to what we did. Sit down and let me explain to you what happened to us.
Wait until you hear whom we met,’ we call people together and make our
lives into lives for others. The word brings us together and calls us
into community. When the flesh becomes word, our bodies become part of
a body of people.”

~ Henri J.M. Nouwen

Dawg’s View: Unseemly hot Sunday at Evandale Market. Many Pats and compliments, all greatfully received.

Lulworth Pt.2 ~ Poetry

“The winds, the sea, and the moving tides are what they are. If there is wonder and beauty and majesty in them, science will discover these qualities… If there is poetry in my book about the sea, it is not because I deliberately put it there, but because no one could write truthfully about the sea and leave out the poetry.”

~ Rachel Carson

Lulworth, Thursday, Pt.1

“Sometimes just being on a beach with my loved ones is all the adventure I need. I am a happy camper and continue to be a citizen of the world. I have yet to discover other cultures, other peoples’ dreams and treasures. I will always be a traveler who is discovering beautiful Gaia.”

~ Guy Laliberte
